2004-10-05 - 1:16 p.m. Yes it's been like a gazillion days since I've updated. My life's been fairly chaotic. Work has been shitty to the nth degree(I'm talking dry heaves in the morning). Home's a mess. Teaching a quilting class. Traveling for work. Interviewing for jobs. Not getting jobs. Not wanting jobs. On the political front, I am so looking forward to tonight's debate. As long as John Edwards keeps smiling, he will wipe the floor with Dick Cheney. As Jon Stewart pointed out, "it's like the breck girl debating Darth Vader." I also think that John Edwards has had to put up with a lot of shit and had to defend himself in the primary season. Dick Cheney has grown fat and complacent on his sign-an-oath crowd. Wheee! On pop culture news, I have mixed feelings about Desperate Housewives. On the one hand, it has some great writing. On the other hand, the directing sucks. I mean there is hot hot hot salsa music every time the Latina trophy wife comes on screen. Blech. Given my utter revulsion to Baby Blues, I hate the housewife who used to be an executive. Dear god lady, get a job. I don't say it because that's how a "real" person lives or any such nonsense. I say it because she hates being a housewife. The screaming at the kids gets out of hand. Every time she's on screen, it's like being at the grocery store in the checkout line behind the awful parent who screams at their unruly kids. Get some damn day care before you kill your kids. Because your bad behavior isn't entertaining, it's depressing. Especially when you live in the whitest house in the whitest neighborhood on tv. Most women don't have the option of chucking it all away to take care of their kids so shut the hell up ok?
