I am realizing why straight men are obsessed with cars. I am similarly obsessed with my TiVo. It’s not really TiVo but it’s the personal digital recorder that comes with our satellite. The siege is over. We finally got cable or satellite or whatever. I took the day off to be home for when the installers came. You know that commercial where the guy comes to install a couple’s cable and they end up hugging him as if he just delivered their baby? Yeah, that’s how I feel. In fact I begging Lady Lancaster and Pauline to come over to watch. We had some might fine cable before but NOW! OMIGOD. We have BBCAmerica! The GOOD What not to Wear!!!!! Changing Rooms! Ground Force! We have Boomerang – all of my favorite badly animated cartoons from the 80s! Thundarr the Barbarian! The Herculoids! The “New” Scooby Doo! We have the Do It Yourself network with the racist white quilters who have “mentally” been to Africa and are trying to pass off their Kinte cloth log cabin quilts as “African.” In fact one woman said “In African, the word for Grandma is Gogo.” To which Lady Lancaster, who spent two years in Kenya said “African is NOT a language.” God I love her. I love the fact we live within walking distance of each other. There was a moment last night when we were on either end of the couch with the wedding quilt on top of us shooting the shit. I was talking about how if I get a certain job that would start until mid-July, I would take a month off and become her nanny. We went into giggles of delight at the thought of me being her Merry Bobbins.

Style Network – NIGELLA!!!!!!!!
Bravo – Queer Eye for the Straight Guy

WB – Gilmore Girls (only to see if they really have jumped the shark)
