2004-04-20 - 9:26 a.m. I know this is kind of late in the analysis of breaking news, but did anyone see the Great Pretender press conference? Because boy was that man incoherent. It's amazing how much the press gave him a free ride. Not just the people in the room because, hey, you know he'd only ask on the people who kiss his ass but every analysis of the press conference. The thing is, as completely inane as this man was with the press, don't for a second believe he's stupid. He played the press like a violin with in malaprops and bad grammar. For example, one reporter asked him about why the U.S. had well over 90% of the troops in Iraq. His answer was "please don't demean the contributions of our allies." Nice little play there, acting all insulted by a legitimate question so you don't have to answer. This guy has his schtick down. But if the press is buying it, we shouldn't. And certainly the Democrats shouldn't. I hate how quickly Kerry is moving to the center. It's hilarious that Bush's poll numbers started going down in the primaries when 9 Democrats started saying IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS how sucky Bush is. Of course the conclusion to make is to be as middle of the road as possible. COME ON PEOPLE!!!!!
