At least I have no 101 updates. Wasn't last week the big ol' week o' death? First the Schiavo woman, and then my friend's dog, and then the Pope. I haven't weighed in on Schiavo because it's so obvious but there are two things I wanted to point out. The first is that members of Congress should be able to vote "None of our goddamned business" when it comes to poking into private family matters. Thanks to mr. activision for pointing that out at a party Saturday night. The second is the Michael Schiavo got a nursing degree to take care of his wife and in the 15 years she was in a coma (and BRAIN DEAD) she did not get a single bed sore. Do you know how much care it takes to keep a brain dead person from getting bedsores? My aunts and cousins visited and took care of my grandmother every day for the two weeks she was in a coma and she still got a bedsore. Think about 15 years of vigilantly caring and washing your brain dead spouse?

One thing I've decided to stop beating myself up over is not getting to know people who I read regularly on diaryland. Although I will say that I've met Raw-voice in person and she really does rock, I have a semi-full life. As much as I would love to meet these awesome people, it's hard enough to keep track of the friends I have.

BUT the quilting journal rolls on and here the next quilt:

The Four Seasons Quilt

This was my fifth quilt that I made in the summer of 2002. This is the first quilt i made with an actual theme to it as opposed to "here a pretty block I'll put into the quilt!" Each tree and leaf represents a different season and the central bear claw block has a bit of each fabric in it. It's also the first and only quilt I've ever sold. I put it up at the faculty show at the art school mr. activision runs. Someone fell in love with it and paid a nice chunk of change for it. While I'm proud of it, it's way to country for my tastes.
