2005-01-19 - 9:16 a.m. 2nd Anniversary For our second anniversary we decided to hold off on a big hoo hah until President's Day because I had just gotten back from a Students' of Color Organizing retreat. Yesterday was our actual anniversary and with me recovering from an intense trip and mr. Activision working we didn't do anything that was just us but that was ok. You see my chorus was singing in an MLK Tribute where several different GLBT arts groups came together to commemorate the life of one of the greatest organizers the world has known. And it was THE way to celebrate our lives together. You lives seem to be intersecting more and more. The director of the youth chorus that is housed at his organization also is the assistant director of another queer chorus in town. Each group singing, playing and reading had a meaningful role to play. We were reminded that the arts can change the world and express the meaningful. After the remembrance we went to a neighborhood bar/restaurant where several people from the remembrance, including music director lady, were there. In the room were the first and third worst sexes of my life in the room, one of whom I hadn't seen in seven years. This prompted mr. Activsion to ask, "Is there anyone in DC you DID have good sex with?" And I had to think long and hard for the answer. Sad isn't it? That night we were surrounded by music and love. What a better way to celebrate the anniversary. By the way - #84 is done!
